Now, stop me if I’m wrong.  A board of creators sat in a room and had a conversation the ended in ‘You know what, why are we all wasting our time meeting when it’s clear that Blue Beetle needs a fucking TV show.’

I mean, seriously?  Smallville is a success, this I know, but you want to follow up Superman with the Blue Beetle?  That’s like following up a sample of Glenora Port Wine with a bottle of Boone’s Farm.  Is it me or is DC starting to sound like Marvel and boarding their own ‘We’re super awesome and it doesn’t matter what crap we put out, people will eat it up!  Oh and let’s put Deathstroke on fifteen covers this month’ train?  Am I right?

I might be crazy here, but don’t they have a spin off kind of built in to the last couple of seasons in the form of a little known Justice League alum: GREEN FUCKING ARROW?  Why is this not the next show they’re going to produce?  If they can’t get TV rights to do a well done Batman live action show (Quiet down ‘Birds of Prey’ no one’s thinking of resurrecting your sorry ass) then Green Arrow is the next best thing.  Hell, he’s just Batman-Lite with a Bow anyway, so you might even serve well to tell a bunch of Batman stories through this character.

Hell, I tell you what I’ll give you the premise of the first season: Green Arrow leaves Metropolis to find his mentor who he’s learned has been kidnapped (forgetting that terrible brotherhood of the arrow crap story line from last season) and over the course of eighteen or so episodes we find out that (WHAMMO!) Batman was his secret mentor the whole time.  Don’t have to show the bat on screen to make it work, maybe let the guy interact with Nightwing or Alfred as a guest star.  It’s ok, that was free DC, I don’t expect a check.

You see, I just came up with a totally ridiculous plot that’s already ten times better than Blue Beetle.

You know who would make a KILLER Booster Gold though…
